A fast-release bolus that instantly replenishes energy deficits. The formulation contains a high concentration of propionate, which is the primary precursor for hepatic glucose synthesis—the fuel for immune system function—and is also essential for the complete oxidation of fat, which is intensively mobilized during the perinatal period. The bolus is enriched with B vitamins, which are essential for gluconeogenesis and fat metabolism. The use of two boluses allows for the regulation of fatty acid oxidation pathways, resulting in lower blood ketone levels and increased blood glucose levels. The Energy-Pill bolus can be used in combination with Livo-Pill to protect the liver or with Calcium-Pill to reduce the risk of postpartum retention.

Ingredients

Dosage

Dairy cows: After calving, administer 2 boluses daily directly into the mouth using an applicator. Continue administration until appetite returns.

The Energy-Pill bolus can be used in combination with Livo-Pill to protect the liver or with Calcium Pill to reduce the risk of postpartum retention.

NOTE: Do not administer boluses to recumbent cows showing signs of postpartum paralysis. It may be administered to dairy cows from three weeks before calving until six weeks after calving; however, when supplementing with calcium or sodium propionate late in pregnancy, a mineral balance assessment should be conducted to evaluate the risk of postpartum hypocalcemia. It is recommended to consult a veterinarian or a nutritionist before use or before extending the duration of use.
