An improved formula for a product intended for special dietary needs. It stabilizes water and electrolyte balance to support normal digestive functions in cases of potential digestive disorders, during such disorders, or during recovery from them. The buffer capacity (SID) of the prepared solution, at 74 mmol/L, helps restore acid-base balance. When mixed with water, the solution is isotonic. It contains electrolytes—sodium, potassium, and chloride—as well as easily digestible energy sources, such as glucose. The betaine in the formulation regulates cellular hydration and protects cells from apoptosis during water balance disturbances. The product also replenishes zinc, which acts as a cofactor for the enzyme carbonic anhydrase; its proper activity maintains the body’s acid-base homeostasis. Glutamate, zinc glycinate, and dextrose are easily absorbed through the intestinal walls, and their active absorption stimulates the movement of water from the intestinal lumen into the body. Additionally, glutamate and glycinate improve intestinal integrity and alleviate inflammation associated with diarrhea. The sodium diacetate content, unlike sodium bicarbonate and sodium citrate, does not interfere with the formation of a casein clot in the abomasum; therefore, the preparation can be used with milk. The use of this organic sodium salt provides an additional energy boost.
